Tiny bubbles similar to seltzer water in standing toilet water
Hi-awhile back, someone asked a question that sounds pretty similar to the problem I'm having with my toilet, but I didn't see a response from them as to whether they were able to resolve the issue. In one of my toilets, after a few hours, really tiny bubbles develop in the standing water. The bubbles resemble carbonated/seltzer water. Once you flush the toilet, they disappear, but then they come back within an hour or so. I've cleaned the toilet, but the problem remains. Any idea what could be causing these bubbles? Mold or something similar? I'm relatively clueless with these things, so any help is much appreciated. Thank you. :)

OK, it's air and there are two ways it can get there:

    1. The water source can have entrapped bubbles. Could happen if the toilet was connected to the hot water supply. Possibly a well problem. Possibly an expansion tank problem.

    2. A clogged vent. Although you should have some flushing issues going on like not as strong of a flush. This is solved by snaking the vent from the roof.

    I'm betting #2.

Tiny bubbles accumulate in toilet [ 2 Answers ]
