    Nordyne c3ba-036c-a
I have a Nordyne C3BA-036C-A unit and there is an metal insert on the side with two round pre drilled holes where heat is just blasting out of. What are these holes? And can I tape them with HVAC tap to stop the WASTE of hot air into my basment. I'm not sure if it is a place for cental air conditioning or not... it just seems like something is suppesed to go there or why would there be an insert with two holes. What is it and can I seal it up. Thanks

    Finally got it!
They are in the box part of the unit and the air goes straight up into the vent from there... So I'm thinking I will be good because it is going up into the vent anyway all I'm doing is pluggin the holes to stop the heat from coming out of that part..

You can cover those over. Easy does it if you plan on using metal and screws in that area since copper tubes could be there.
