    Transferring My documents data to CD or DVD
    I don't know how to transfer the data on MY Documents on to a CD or DVD. My Pictures have a way to do that with 'copy to CD' but My Documents don't. I tried 'move' but it doesn't work and I've wasted many blank CDs and DVDs trying to do it. Surely there is a way to clear up My Documents so that I can add other data without deleting them all.

    Just drag and drop the files onto your CD/DVD drive.

    And why do you need to clear them up? Are you running out of space on your hard drive?

    What version of Windows?

    Thanks but Drag and drop them where?
    I want to have more space on MY DOCUMENTS because it's getting really full. That's why I want to put documents and pictures on discs.
    I have Windows XP

    I told you, onto your CD/DVD drive. It's a drive letter in Windows Explorer. Windows XP has built in support for burners. So just dragging and dropping onto the driver letter or icon will do the job.

    Folders don't get full, drives get full. So how much spaces do you have on your drive?

    My Documents have about 80 folders, pictures and Microsoft Word documents that I want to put on to a CD. I don't see how I can 'drag' them to the E drive unless one by one? Sorry, I just don't understand so I guess it's basic stuff I should know. There are 163 GB on my C drive. None on E drive. When I used Roxio I could drag and drop, but I've deleted that. So I just don't know how to drag and drop to E drive. Should I use "Copy" with highlighted folders?

    There are 163G of FREE space? Then you have plenty of space.

    You obviously know what dragging and dropping is, so I really don't understand your problem with this.

    Open TWO instances of Windows Explorer. Place a blank DVD in your drive. Then drag the My documents folder from one instance of win Explorer and drop it on the DVD drive icon in the other instance.

DVD not reading any data [ 3 Answers ]
