Loud tapping noises coming from inside roof
We can hear a vibrating tapping noise coming from inside the roof. We can only hear it in some parts of the house, but it is a very pounding, vibrating noise. The taps occur every second (like a second hand going around on a clock). We have turned off the water but the noise is still happening.

Aside from guessing the only real solution will be for someone to access the attic and actually find out what the noise is and where it's coming from.

Agree with above. Best way to figure this out is to get up in the attic and locate source of noise. Also, do you hear the noise outside, indicating roof vents.

You posted this under plumbing but I see nothing that indicates plumbing. When you hear hooves think horses not zebras. Shutting off the water was a nice test that shows its not likely plumbing related. Get inside the attic and do some detective work, do you have aluminium siding and fascia?

I just realized what the noise was. It was santa and his reindeer.
