    Toilets not flushing properly
I have two toilets in my house. The first toilet stopped flushing properly. There's plenty of water pressure, it attepts to flush but doesn't flush all the way. Shortly after the problem started another one appeared, after flushing the water level rises to the point of almost overflowing and still the toilet won't completely flush. Not long after that problem started my second toilet started doing the samething. It still flushes but not like it should plus each time it flushes there's a strong sewage odor coming out of the toilet. I am on a septic system, I don't know if I need to pump the tank or if this has anything to do with the problem. Id hate to pay 300 bucks to pump the tank and still have the same problem with the toilet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Hi Mike

From your discription sounds like your septic tank is full. If the tank has not been cleaned in past 2 yrs. this is more than likely the problem.

If u know location of septic tank, remove cover and see how full it is and check it with a long stick to see if u have a lot of solids in it.

If tank is OK, run a snake through toilet to try to brerak up blockage.

Let us know how u make out.

    Good luck and happy holidays

    Chuck:
Thanks for the info. I had a feeling the septic tank needed to be pumped. I will follow your directions and check it before calling the 'pumpers'. Thanks again and have a wonderful holiday season.
