Ok so a little backround. About 6 months ago I got caught for robbing someone. I was convicted and charged with attempted robbery in the 3rd degree. I was given 60 days in rikers island (Im from New York) with 5 years probation. At the time I was a drug addict and have changed my life around and am clean from drugs.
Once released I reported to Probation always ontime/ never missed a date. A week ago probation with police came and searched my room and found a old needle that I didn't even know was there. I was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. I saw my PO and she did not violate me thank god. But here is my problem. I signed up for community college and went for half the semester but then just stopped going to classes. To be honest I don't know why I stopped. I think it was a combination of depression and my mind was not in the right place. So I got a part time job. I did not tell my PO I stopped attending. I never officially withdrew from school. Grades are coming in a week or so and I'm going to either get all F's/ Withdraws/ or a combination of the 2. My PO wants to see my grades. Can she violate me based on me doing bad in school?
On my terms of probation there is this "Work faithfully at a suitable employment or pursue a course of stufy or vocational treaining approved by the Dep of Probation that can lead to a suitable employment. Submit proof of such a employment, study, or training as directed by Dep of Probation" I was never told to do good in school and I am planning on going back and doing the right thing in school next semster and taking up some training for a trade (electrician) in next week or 2. What you guys think? And by the way before the robbery arrest I was never in trouble with law. Im worried because she let me slide with the arrest but now this. If you think I will be violated what you think the chances of me getting are regarding time?

Implicit in the "pursue a course of study" is attending and making a good faith effort to do well. However, poor work is not punished, but not being honest with your p.o. will be punished.

Normally, when you see your officer, you have to document your school or work. That means where you are going to school, not just where you are registered in school. You need to bring this up to your p.o. and be honest.

You also need to go to the school counselor and get help in determining a course of study that interests you. You also, need no see if your school has a policy that allows you to "bankrupt" a bad semester. Some do. You are not the only person who has been in this position. At first, take classes that interest you. This will help you later to make it through the always boring required classes.

You are a lot more likely to be violated for not telling the PO that you stopped school and started working somewhere.

So that is more of your concern in my opinion.
