Always cold??
:( [F]
I was wondering if there is something missing in my diet or maybe something else. It doesn't matter if I wear a long sleeve and a jacket I still find myself shivering. I mean my jaw and body actually trembles because I am that cold. Any suggestions?

Have you been checked for anemia? Many people with anemia have a hard time staying warm. Also, I am guessing that you are thin. If that is the case then you do not have enough body fat to insulate you and keep yourself warm.
You should make an appointment with your doctor to be checked for anemia.

I would have a thyroid panel (blood test) done as well, to check for hypothyroidism.
I hope you find an answer soon. Take care. :)

I am anemic and am ALWAYS cold, although not to the point where my jaw trembles. I keep a small heater in my office; even in the summer! You should have blood tests done to see if anything's off balance, it's really not a big deal to have the test done. Better to catch something before it possibly gets out of hand.

Hey Lovesick Puppy!
Ya know, I joined this site cause of your question. I was anemic (because I had my menstrual period everyday for two years straight!) I was cold all the time, and my husband and son would run around in shorts and a tee-shirt. No matter what I did, I couldn't get warm.
It turned out I was anemic... duh, and my labs were a bit off. I hope you do labs to see if this is your case and.
I completely relate and agree with jenni9. Take the time to see a doc if you haven't already, and ask for more than a CBC- complete blood count. Thomas1970 is absolutely correct in assuming to ask for more than a CBC and to ask for the Thyroid panel or anything else.
Like I said, my results came back more than anemia... NOT TO SCARE YOU... I have Lupus,(diagnosed BEFORE I became symptomatically cold) and when my symptoms changed, I couldn't get a grip of how cold I would be, especially with my family so comfortable, and them just putting on the heater for me in the summertime for me.
Just keeping you informed. I hope you understand I am not assuming anything that you may have. Any suggestions are just from what I have experienced and not what I think you may have.
Good Luck!

Hi Chillybones, I too was diagnosed with Lupus and was always cold as well, and now recently diagnosed with anemia as well, ever wonder if the two are related? BTW, I recently had an iron infusion for my anemia (due to heavy periods as well), and I feel "normal" again. For some reason my period is much, much, much better too. Don't know if it's related to the infusion yet. Have you ever had to go for an infusion?

Hi Try2FindAWay!
Yep, I had mine for two years straight. Had a hyst. Because of it. I did have an iron transfusion and I had platelets, blood, all kinds of things. Just to let you know, it was because of this I started my company! I really don't think doctors and nurses could understand beyond the verbal, "I"m cold" during and infusion. I created it so that the hospitals would provide the warmth if not the bedside manner! LupineWear. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post this. If not, I can repost without the plug! But, I have been making them for my chemo buddies and then had to start a company cause I was too tired to make them anymore. I am still going through a lot of the Lupus health issues and have recently had another round of chemo. But just the infusion, not radiation.
I hate to use this thread for our conversation, so if you want, you can start another and I will follow. I was just answering Lovesickpuppy! Hope this helps!
