Can you enter the netherlands with a felony
I have a felony conviction, and even with a passport cannot enter Canada. What about the Netherlands? I have to accompany my daughter to amsterdam next month. Does anyone know if I have travel restrictions to there??

If you are from the US, then Canada is a foreign country to you. And if Canada doesn't allow you, as a person trying to enter with a felony, then the Netherlands would be the same; any foreign country.

    Hello amye:

I traveled to Europe in 2005. My plane stopped in Amsterdam, and I had to clear customs there. I also traveled to Mexico in 2008. I didn't have a problem. I have LOTS of felony's.

Not all country's have the restrictions Canada does.

Thanks for clearing that up. Not all countries are as difficult as the US is right now to Canadian travellers, even with passports, which is the preferred way we travel to the US. Most Canadians have gone through a lot of expense and waiting and waiting to receive the required passport information that US customs says they need in order to enter your country.so we are even.

I would think the US, from my side of the border, has more restrictions then Canada.

Edit: doesn't it all depend on the felony, plural felonies, not felony's (that makes it possessive) which I don't think it can be.

Okay, so I am not in a good mood today.

    Hello again, ticked tick:

Look. I don't support our fortress mentality. I think we should form a North American Union open our borders. That way you and I would NOT be separated by a virtual Berlin Wall. But, I digress...

American felons who want to travel to Canada must first be "rehabilitated", and I have NO idea what you Canadians think is rehabilitation.

Are our requirements stiffer? Probably. Fortunately for the OP, the rest of the world isn't as nuts as we are.
