Easy one: Replacing Tub with Shower
Hi - I'm in the process now of redoing our second story bath, and want to remove the tub and install a shower.

Assuming the tub drain is 2" PVC and that I can either move the drain location to the center of the shower pan or that I can find a pan that has the offset, drain, is there any other drainage plumbing that would need be done?

Would the venting in place for the tub drain automatically apply to the shower, or would additional venting work be required?

    Thanks
    Chad

    Hi Chad,

The same vent that serviced the tub will service the shower, so , no worries there.

Most of the conversions are made using a custom tile shower so the trap and raiser won't have to be moved. I'm assuming the trap raiser is 2" and not 1 1/2. If it's 1 1/2" then it will have to be increased to 2". Good luck, Tom
