    Keyboard conflict
Hi, I have a laptop Samsung r510, I've just gotten a usb keyboard, and when I plugged it, some keys of the laptop's keyword do not work as they should be, they display as if they were activated with the [FN] key (i.e instead of j displays 1), this happens also when I'm not using the usb keyboard. I changed the drivers but didn't work, and I don't know what to do!! By the way, this happened both in Ubuntu 9.10 and Windows XP
    P. D. I have currently Ubuntu 9.10

It sounds like you may have NumLock pressed on the usb keyboard

-check both, laptop and ext keyboard and make sure numlock in not activated (should be light to indicate it is pressed)

Shift + Fn + Num Lock
    Or sometimes
    Fn + Num Lock

Or like above, sometimes just the numlock.
