wiring Hw programmmable stat to 8 wire
Trying to wire up a Honeywell RTH2410 and Ive got 8 wires.
    R, T, O, G, Y, X2, B and W.
Im not clear on the T, and X2. It says to tape off B, and run X2 into Aux terminal with W. No mention of T wire (Brown).
Should I tape off both T and B? Also, should I combine X2 and W into the Aux terminal?
    Thanks,
    Steve

What do you have available on your new stat?

Bet you have a Trane system.
B is likely common, since using O and B is usually done with some zoning systems.
"T" you will have to tape off.

You have the wrong stat. You need something with 2 stage heating where the second stage is emergency/aux heat.

I have a Janitrol heat pump system with emergancy heat. It has 7 wires and I am going to a Honeywell RTH 6400D programmable unit which has only 5 wire lugs. I believe I know how to do the conversion but need confirmation. Can you tell me how this should be wired? Thanks much

Power robbing stat acts weird with the fan wire [ 7 Answers ]

I switched to a new Hi-Tech stat from HAI called the Omnistat2. It connects to my PC and has a color changing background display. Very nice unit. However it can draw up to 60mA at 24VAC. My old thermostat worked great, it was an old Janitrol. It was a "power robbing" type, but my DMM says it...

4 wire stat controlling two devices? [ 19 Answers ]

I've set up a 240V heater in my garage but due to space restrictions it's mounted on a shelf about 7' above the floor. To keep the air circulating I've added a shroud to the intake of the heater with a 6" round duct to the floor for a cold air pick up. The heater's element seems to be running...
