Why is a 12 y/o having sex? Yes, she can get pregnant before, during, and after her period even with protection. If she misses her next period, she should tell her mother the whole story immediately! If she does get her period, she must stop playing around with fire. Others here will chime in with more details.

No 12 year old should be having sex. Aside from it being morally wrong, and downright foolish, I can't think of a single place where it's even legal. Here's some questions to pass on to your friend... is she ready to become a mother? Can she work enough to put a house over her own and a child's head? And still go to school? How will she pay for baby food? Diapers? A crib? A car seat? Heck, how will she even get her and a baby around? Baby clothes?and ten later there will be daycare or preschool. And what about if her boyfriend leaves her? How will she raise a baby on her own? How will she tell her parents that she is pregnant if she can't even come online to find out more about if she could be? And what about std's. Is she ready to risk getting one? These are the things she needs to be thinking about next time she thinks she wants to have sex.

First if he wore protection, she would have know it to, since he would have to take time, put it on, and then take it off and throw it away after.
Next she needs to talk perhaps to someone since it if sort of obvious she has little idea of birth control and what having sex cuases

Hey shannon..
Really she needs to talk to an adult about this..
A teacher,or a parent someone who she can trust and offer help and advice.
I understand that she is very scared and you are concerned for her,but she really needs an adult to talk to right now.

Sometimes shannon being a friend is doing something in the best interests of your friend... something she needs right now is someone who can really help...
She's scared and frightend and I bet you are too, this is too big for both of you, and even adults face problems that are too big and need to get help.
You caer enough about your friend to come on here and get some advice,go a step further for her and tell an adult..
How about your mother,or an aunt,or teacher..
If she is pregnant people are going to find out anyway, and if not,at least she can get a health check..
At 12 her body is still not ready for a baby or sex,she really needs helpand you can't really help,as much as you want too,you need help to help her...
Do you see what I mean..
Once its out,you can go back to being a great friend (and you are now),but you won't have this on your shoulders.

Shannon, that's why she needs to talk to ab adult. It's not "telling on her". It's tough love. She needs help, more than you can give her on your own. An adult needs to be brought into this situation

Well let me see, there may be many problems, some serious enough that her health and even life could be at risk.
So you don't seem to really be a friend, I am blunt, a real friend, knows when to get help for the other person even if they get mad or even if they lose that friend for now.
You tell her parents or your parents and/or a school cousler ( if this was a school day);

Here's the bottom line, She's 12, and if she's possibly pregnant then she needs help from an ADULT ASAP. The best way you can help your "emo" best friend is to tell someone who actually CAN help her, even if she ends up hating you, you know you did the right thing for her, and she will eventually forgive you. You said she's emo and can't deal with this right now, then WHY is she having sex? If she can't handle normal stresses in her life then she DEFINITELY can NOT handle having sex or giving birth to a child, be it 12 or 21, she needs help NOW. Help her.
If you really care about her the way you say you do, you will do what is necessary to help her, even if it puts your friendship at risk. You KNOW this is wrong, by not doing anything abo0ut it, you are putting her at more risk than she would be if she had help. Keep that in mind.

Have either of you finally gotten an adult involved? Or is her life just going to continue to be put at risk?
