Why are you asking?

You need to see a doctor about it, if you're concerned.

Depends on why sperm count is down. It may or may not be down at 55.
As someone in that general age group, why in heavens name do you want to increase sperm count, no one that age should be considering fathering a child, you would be 66 when they were 10 and well into your 70s if still alive when they finish high school.
But men into their 50's and 60's can still be very furtile with good sperm count and even with bad counts they can still father a child, it just lowers the chances.
Also no one is going to really help you much if you don't answer what you are wanting to know for. More info

Sperm count is not all there is to having "quality sperm"... one issue that men can experience with age is the number of genetic abnormalities build up over time, which can translate into sperm that aren't as viable... so #s aren't all there is to the situation.
Now... there are many other things that can play into improvement of sperm quality... most of them could simply be placed under a general heading of "clean living"... eat well, be fit, moderate drinking, minimize stress and illness, avoid pollution, and on and on and on...
When in doubt, see a fertility specialist.

Siben, I want to understand your question. Are you asking about your ability to become a father or the frequency at which you can have sex?

WHy is sperm quality at 55 an issue? Marry a 20 year old and want to start a family NOW?
If its about having sex... the two things are not related. And it depends on a lot of medical issues and if they are all good, then you can be the toast of the retirement home when the time comes.

Some men have had children well into their nineties.
Are you looking for an heir to your name? Other than that, Most people here cannot fathom why someone your age would want to take on that task.
But I will not judge you for your choices, or reasons.
Will you please give us more?

Quality... quantity... two sides of a different coin. Does he mean Ejaculate volume or sperm count? They aren't the same thing. And why is THAT an issue? Unless it was a poor choice of words on the part of the OP and he means something else. Like being able to have sex more often, or that he can have sex more often but his ability to produce ejaculate is not what it was when he was younger. English doesn't appear to be his first language so its possible we misread what he was asking.

Yeah... I was the one who probably redirected toward quality...
In the end the OP needs to clarify the reason for asking about quantity...
If he means he wants a larger ejaculate volume, focusing on sperm count isn't really useful, since the % of sperm in ejaculate is very low... so an increase in sperm #s won't likely be noticed when looking at volume... tho' low semen and low sperm count together could be a fertility issue.
If he's talking about reproduction issues, again, he needs to look at more than just count.
If he's talking about an increased volume because he just mentally favors having more ejaculate, with no ties to fertility concerns, it's a different thing.
Darn semantics.

Yep. He may be asking about ED issues past age 55. Hence my questions for him.
