    Can you sue a bank
I recently lost my debit card so I went to the bank and told them to cancel it, but one week later after I told them to cancel it somebody had took money out from my debit card. Is there any way I can sue the bank or at least get my money back.

Talk to a manager at the branch. They will usually work with you, especially if it was a bank error. You can sue, but chances are you will loose. The contracts you sign when joining a bank generally allows the bank to assume no damages from your loss, meaning: no matter what happens, its your responsibility. On top of that, they will get some of the best lawyers in the world to fight you, it could take years even if you were successful.

As a banker, I've seen this scenario a lot. Suing a bank would be a waste of everyone's time.

If you speak to someone in a higher position, you will be able to get your money back. The biggest inconvenience to you will be the time it takes to resolve the matter.

Since you reported the loss, the most you could be responsible for is $50. Go back to the bank, tell the manager you reported the loss and the withdrawal was made AFTER the report. Then should restore the balance. If they don't go to the State Banking Commission.
