    Roundoffs and Backhandsprings
    Hey it is me with more questions! 1
    I really need some help with preparation with my roundoffs.Especially the landing.When I land , my legs are always bent and I'm look like I'm squating.Also, could someone tell me how I can practice or prepare myself to do a backhandspring without having to go to gymnastics class?? I would:) really appreciate it!!

    When you go up, push, HARD! And when you land, stiff your legs. It might hurt a bit but eventually you learn it doesn't hurt anymore and NO PAIN NO GAIN! Besides, no body is perfect at everything and perfection takes time and effort.

    What do you mean when oyu say push? are you talkinhg about my hands or my feet?? There are no stupid questions

    Push-off with both your hands AND feet! To keep your legs straight, pretend like yu're kicking someone and try to keep your leggs tight when you land. It IS normal to squat a bit, but not much.
    For backhandsprings, I would really suggest going to a tumbling classs. If you want something to prepare you for it, do a lot of bridges because they're the most important strech for backhandsprings.

    Run really hard into it then when your hands hit the ground PUSH hard. Then when you land you should automatically rebound and if your rebound is really big if you fall on the ground pull in your arms. I didn't and that's how I broke my arm. Best of Luck.;)

    When you do your roundoff make sure you lock your legs completely locked!! ;) Push really hard with your legs and make sure when you stand up... to pull your chest up so you are not bent over at all!! It also helps to run really fast!! You might want to try power-hurdle roundoffs too!! :) As for the backhabdspring I really suggest that you get a PRIVATE lesson or take a friend to a tumbling class... you might want to stress the backhandspring part to your instructor!!     You can try bending in backbends to prepare for a handspring or do them on a trampoline.
