If a kid is changing his last name does he have to go to court
I'm 11 and I don't really like my dad... I haven't really seen him in 4 years and he hasn't paid child support for me in 11 years would I have to go to court to get my last name changed or just my mom?

No you don't have to go to court at all. Your parents would and if you tell the judge the same thing you just told us your dad will get custody right away.

I guess a few things , as a minor you can't do anything, your parents will have to go to court to change your name. Normally your dad will also have to agree to it.

"he has not paid child support in 11 years" is there a child custody order and is there a child support order done in the courts?
