Smelling sewage and lighting fire okay
Just moved into newly built house 3 months. Ago. Experiencing strong sewage odors (have drainfield, well & pump to house, etc.)... starting to narrow down to times we use shower, tub, etc. In snow storm today, getting ready to make fire and concerned about the methane gases and possible dangers from burning a fire??

Don't worry! It take a lot of concentrated sewer gas to produce enough methane to blow your house up. Have the septic tank checked to see if it needs to be pumped. Good luck, Tom
