Popular diabetes drugs linked to increased risk of heart failure and death
Sulphonylureas, a type of drug widely used to treat type 2 diabetes, carries a greater risk of heart failure and death compared with metformin, another popular antidiabetes drug.
I am a type II diabetic.
I take 3 1,000mg Diabex Tablets every day.
They control the sugar in the blood quite well.
    What is your experience ?

I don't know how you can call diabetes medication 'antidiabetes'. This erroneously implies that diabetes can be beaten and it cant. I am type 2 and take one (500mg) metformin a day and have for the last three years. I have blood work and a check up every 6 months. So I know my diabetes is under control and I will keep it that way.

I haven't heard, and I am in healthcare so read all recent explorations into diabetes, that diabetes meds cause any heart related problems (or death). I have seen nothing published in this regard. Just being diabetics, ROLCAM, puts us at risk, more likely for autoimmune diseases then heart related problems. We are taking diabetes meds to aid with the following:

    * Help the pancreas make more insulin

    * Help the body's cells use insulin more efficiently

    * Work with both the pancreas and the cells to control blood sugar levels

    * Slows down the digestion of carbohydrates in the food we eat causing the rise of glucose Commonly referred to as sugar, it is the major source of energy used by the body's cells. It is taken from foods we eat and can be made from protein. In the blood following a meal to be less.

Any diagnosed diabetic should have a good understanding of why they are taking diabetes meds.

I would really like to have reference to the article that you site.
