How do I discipline or correct bad behavior of an 18 yr old who is not my child?
I am four months pregnant and have just left an abusive husband. His former employer hired me right before I decided to leave. I love this job. Unfortunately there is another employee there who is extremely difficult because he thinks that the whole world revolves around him. If he gets an answer from me or anyone for that matter, he'll throw a temper tantrum like a four year old. He kicks and screams and shouts. He's pointed a nail gun at all of us and started shooting. He's threatened to kill me, kicked my ladder when I was 3 months pregnant because I asked him repeatedly to help me with something and he refuses to do any work or help anyone with anything because as he puts it "Nobody is gonna boss me. I'm an adult and I'll do what I want".
He calls me 20 or 30 times a day to talk about nothing but if I tell him I'm busy and ask him not to call anymore he curses me out when I get to work and locks the office door so I can't come in. He's threatened to take the key away and my employer doesn't seem to understand how serious this can become. At first I wanted to guide him and show him how he's supposed to behave. Now I just want to smack the bad right out of him. I am seriously losing my mind. I don't know what to do.

If he pointed a nail gun at you, and started shooting, that was a serious offence. Threatening bodily harm is another offence. Seeing as you are pregnant, working around this guy who sounds like a loaded time bomb, why are you still at that employment ? If your employer is unwilling or unable to do anything about this employee, you must report him to the police, as you obviously have witnesses to his extremely dangerous behavior.

It definitely sounds like he has a serious mental issue and should be assessed.
