Space fantasy animated film
I've seen this when I was a kid, I remember the animation wasn't top-notch, so I'm guessing it was made in 80's.
The show has a male protagonist (human? Alien? Not sure) who lives with his primitive nation underground, digging ore, for a supposed god (he always sends them a cargo container full of food, and they fill it with ore in return) The god is portrayed as a huge flames-throwing gate, in which the carts vanishes. The protagonist somehow escapes the caves inhabited by his people (on the cart, as it passes through the flames, he looks back, and we see the "god" is actually a flames-throwing-gatey machine, made to look impressive enough to fool the natives) then he escapes from the underground, and somehow gets on a spaceship out of there. That's about what I remember, the film was quite long (2+ hours maybe?) and I think it ends with the protagonist freeing his people (ofc) Please, anyone seen this, or is it just an imagination of mine?:) Google didn't really help.
