    Harassing Phone Calls
I've been getting these restricted phone calls for a little while now and I'm tired of it. The people on the phone are cursing at me threatening that they are going to find me and kill me and things of that matter. What steps can I take to get these people to stop legally? I have recorded conversations with them saying extremely obsene things and gorey details of how they want to impale me with a butcher knife. Please can someone tell me how to start making some ways to stop this.

You may be able to get your phone company to block calls coming from particular numbers. I can do this online with my phone company.

You can also call the police because threats of this type amount to assault. However, the cops are sometimes reluctant to enforce those laws.

That was my thought exactly that the police wouldn't take me seriously, but I live in a rather small town that the police force doesn't have much to do. I Want to get a couple more peoples opinions before I go to them about this. I could also use some examples of strong stern words to help convince the police that I'm not joking around and I'm sick of this.

Get a small recorder and tape the calls, police are unable and unwilling to help unless you have proof and a recording will be a big help. Even if the caller uses a payphone, a recording will help if you know who is making the calls. If that doesn't work, get an unlisted phone number.

Change your phone number. Why are you still listening to them rant and rave about what they want to do to you? Makes no sense.

I would change my phone number but I'm a minor I would have to wait till I'm of legal age to get it changed in my state and I don't like listening to them rant and rave I ignore them 99% of the time its just I get calls from certain companies who have restricted calls and I have to answer almost all calls.

    Hello M:

If it were me, as soon as I recognized them as the bad guys, I'd hang up. Nooo, it wouldn't bother me at all that some Yahoo yelled at me through a little speaker...

As you grow up, you'll find that you're going to have to ignore some stuff, and not let it bother you. That's just the way the world is. You should practice on these phone calls.
