    My niece was adopted do I have any rights in Ohio
    My brother and his girlfriend lost custody of their daughter his girlfriends cousin adopted her do I as an aunt have any rights as for visitation or would her grandparents?

    Who adopted the cihld, a family member,

    Was it a open or closed adoption

    But no aunts don't have any rights to visits at all.

    Since the child was adopted they would lose the "family" ties that most of us have. As far as the Grandparents rights there wouldn't be any because of the adoption situation even if your state grants Grandparent rights under normal legal conditions.

    Out of greenies again but calif is right. If there was an actual legal adoption then you are not legally an aunt and the "grandparents" are not legally grandparent. Aunts don't have rights anyway but that is one of the hardest things I come across people trying to grasp is that they are not related by law.
