    What are my rights
I have two sons with my ex partner, we never lived together and he has never played an active role in the boys lives as of two years ago my sons have only seen him 6 times. I have no contact information for him, and no way of finding him I always give his family my phone numbers and address and ask them to pass it on but he has yet to call I would like nothing more than for my sons to have there father in there lives but I feel I'm the only one trying. My oldest son is now six and ask's a lot of questions and gets very upset when he see's his dad, as he is full of promises to come back the next day or week and never dose. He has never paid any money to myself for our sons and csa have never been able to find him. He doesn't send birthday cards or christmas cards or any kind of gift or letter to show his sons he's thinking of them or to explain to them why he's not around. Is there any way I can get him to take responsbility for his children and if not is there any way I can have his right over them taken away

This is a frequently-asked question and there are "stickies" at the top of this board that address this particular issue. In short, it is very difficult to have a parent's rights terminated, except to pave the way for an adoption in certain cases. But right now you don't seem to be in a position to have another man adopt your sons. He obviously doesn't seem to be very interest in having an active role in his sons' lives. Do you have an order of child support against him? If not, you should get one. Although it seems that he's successfully avoided paying anything up until now, it'll be harder for him to do so if you get a formal court order. But there is nothing you can do to force him to become involved in your sons' lives if he doesn't wish to do so.

I can only say in general since if you live in the US it is different than if you live in Turkey. And even in the US, it is state laws that vary some.

But normally you will not take his rights away for merely not contacting.

I will assume you have a court order of custody and have a court ordered child support issues. If you don't have those, that is the first thing you have to do.
