    Hello all,

    In the spirit of myself being a kind heart a allowed one of my trainees to stay with me in a one bedroom apt in Prince george county Maryland. I really want her out!! It is to the point that this could get physical. She has been here since August and it has been turning into hell every since. From the beginning she has paid me 300 dollars cash until last month she then paid with a money order. When I come home I find dishes sitting in the living room, a disgraceful bathroom etc. I travel a lot so for the most part I am not here. But when I come home from traveling with my job the last thing I want to deal with is cleaning behind another adult! THIS USSUALLY TAKES A About TWO DAYS FOR ME TO COMPLETE. Meanwhile she is sitting on my couch watching as if the law states that I should do this as her "Landlord". Is this true is she my roommate or am I her landlord? I am leasing from a community and my name is solely on the agreement. Can I get her out yesterday? The only thing that she has here is clothes. No furniture or anything. What has bothered me the most is that in one week 3 strange meen have been here in a week. They come around midnight and do not leave until 3am. I am also concern for my belongings can I change the locks? At least until she is gone? Please help.. like I said this could get physical

    Hello tamika:

    You need to evict her like any landlord has to do. We have copies of your states landlord tenant law at the top of the real estate page on a sticky note.

    Generally, you give her written 30 day notice to leave. If she doesn't, you file a lawsuit to have her evicted by the sheriff.

    Sorry, sometimes being nice really sucks. But she is a tenant and you are her landlord, does not matter if she only has one change of clothes or only the clothes on her back.

    You will have to give her notice, now if there was an agreed to amount of rent and she is behind on paying you, it is faster to get her out if you give notice of unpaid rent. But in any manner you give her written notice to move and if she does not you file a formal eviction in court

    Under MD law, you have to give 30 days written notice to vacate. If she doesn't move by the deadline, you need to file for eviction.
