    Nissan maxima help and answers?
    My 1994 nissan maxima is stalling when cold. It is sweet when it has been warmed up for a while and OK in park (auto) but when you go to put in gear or reverse it stalls. The trans is also slipping out of drive into nutral or same with reverse it is a bit better if the overdrive light is on but it also isn't changing gears right sometimes revs hard out and doesn't change so I put it in 2nd gear and it is a bit better. What is wrong?? Please help

    Thoughts:

    . Replace the spark plugs with the same ones that came in the car, if they have not been changed recently. Be sure to replace the rear plugs.

    . Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil.

    . Change the transmission fluid and filter, after the engine reaches normal operating temperature. If this doesn't eliminate the problem, the clutch packs are likely shot and the transmission needs rebuilding.
