Im getting Laser Skin Resurfacing and peels ? Info Anyone?
Hi guys, Haven't posted much on here, but if you have been following my posts you will know that I've been taking L glutathione for a while now. It has freshened and lightened my skin to a certain extent.

Now I am Going to a Clinic in London to get Laser skin resurfacing. Ive heard this may leave bruising or scabs so now looking into skin peels. I haven't done much research on these procedures. Does anyone know anything about it? Pros? Cons Ect xx

Would be grateful for some feedback as the people at the clinic will probably only tell me the good things about it.

    Hope you guys are well

    ModelUK,

Would you mind stating the clinic you will be going to. I have seen 2 "specialists" in Harley Street. The first one, who, I later found out was doing all sorts of doubtful procedures, told me that I would definitely see lightening with laser treatment and there should be no problems at all. He said he had dealt with lots of people of colour. He was too pushy and my instinct told me to run as far away as possible. I would like to add that he also charged a consultation fee for what I believe was 20 minutes of chit chat.

The second person was a black lady who said she would not be happy to do the procedure as there was no guarantee of the results and it could cause both Hypo and hyper pigmentation. I felt she was being totally honest and was not in a hurry to make me part with my money knowing that I may possibly be disappointed with the outcome.

I don't know what your starting point is, but if you are not very fair or white , then you need to err on the side of caution. Unfortunately there are unscrupulous people out there, who will take risks to get your money. See if they can provide before and after photos and even better see if you can meet previous patients and really find out what is possible.

Skin peels should have a better outcome, provided you are in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing. Have you tried doing home peels or are you after a professional treatment only? There are peels that are relatively easy to do and as long as you follow the instructions carefully and make sure you do the patch test beforehand can give nice results.

Thanks for your answers guys, I have an appointment with someone at Harley st. And another at SK:N. They didn't say anything about a fee. What they have said is that because I'm light already then there is less risk of the burning/scabbs etc.

Im not too sure about the laser procedure now. But will defiantly look into the peels. If I can do it myself I will certainly try, but would feel safer with someone else doing it. Do have any links as to where I an get the home peels?

    Thanks again guys

    Xx
