We have two toilets with offset flanges. They back up more often than one would like. A plumber said the only way to improve that problem is to install a power flush toilet. We don't mind doing that, but wonder if it will do the trick. Our floors are made of flagstone so I suspect it wouldn't be terribly easy to tear things up to change the flange configuration. So, do you know if these toilets will solve our problem? The lines are OK.

In my experience offset flanges are not a problem and I've installed a lot of them. At one hotel where a plumber missed all the toilets by 3 inches we had to install offset flanges to all 75 units on the first floor... never had issues so to speak.

And, if the lines are clear that leads me to suspect that you have poor flushing toilets as you and your plumber seem to think as well.

You can replace the toilets with the power flush systems and be sure that you will never ever have another issue... OR you could just install a couple of real good toilets, such as TOTO or kohler or american standard toilets. I think either option will fix things... ;)
