Papers for parents rights so step can adopt?
I have three children each has a different father. I didn't make the best choices where men are concerned. I have always been a good mom though and have done some serious changing about my relationships. I have met a fantastic man whom I am going to marry. My kids adore him and he them. He wants to adopt them.
My question is this What papers are needed for signing away rights for step parent adoption and where can I find them? I am in Oregon. The babies were born in UT. One father is in Oregon, One in Utah and one is California.

You will need to be married first of all. Then you can hire a family law attorney to get the adoption process going. Of course, the fathers will need to agree to the adoption.

Its pretty cut and dry. I just need to know where to find the papers. I get no child support I can't afford a lawyer. The fathers are all willing to sign. I just need the papers

First, please pay more attention to posting guidelines. At the top of the adoption forum (where this was moved from) is a Read First sticky that refers question of a legal nature to this forum. You might also want to review all the posting rules and guidelines in the FAQs.

An Adoption is rarely cut and dried. Especially involving three different children. Was there any court action involving any of the kids outside Oregon?

But the answer to your question is to check the Family court clerk. Not every form is available on line.

My suggestion would be to go to a local law school. Many have free clinics to help people.

I don't recommend that ANYONE walk into an adoption without a lawyer.

    Even a stepparent adoption.

But if all you want is the papers, call your local clerk of courts and ask them.

Unfortunately I don't know anything about Oregon law. Have you tried contacting the local clerk of court to point you in the right direction?

I will, however, say that it's never a good idea to do an adoption without a family law attorney.

First it is very far from "cut and dry"

And of course the issue of why you are not getting any support, and of course any back support can still be colleceted even after adopted.

    1. are all of the fathers listed on the birth certificates, if not there will have to be DNA tests to prove paternity

    2. There are reailly not fill in the blank forms, the permission to adopt is part of the entire adoption filing.

But in general until you are married for over a year, all you do now is save money for the court costs
