    What's with the rage?
So I have just started playing basketball again at my school after not playing for a year due to an injury. When I use to play, I would get very frustrated with myself but was over it in a few hours. Now, its like every time I do something wrong (even if its not my fault) I get so angry that I want to just break something. Its like total rage from then on out and I have a difficult time calming myself down. It takes all my will power not to break anything. I tried breathing exercises but they don't work. I think I might have anger management issues but I feel like I can't talk to anyone about it and if I did I would just get more angry. Any advice?

Basketball seems to be the stimulus. You are expecting too much out of yourself, and when you mess up or make a mistake, you think it is the end of the world.

You need to go into the game or practice knowing you will make mistakes. Have the mindset that you will learn from your mistakes. If you can not stop being frustrated with yourself, basketball probably isn't healthy for your mental status.

If you think you've got an anger management issue and you don't want to see counselor, then try church pastor, priest, or others similar.

You are probably hurt deep down, that you missed basketball for a year! Looks like your angry with your situation :(... do not let circumstances change your mind...

Basketball is supposed to be a sport where you lead, help, encourage and win as a team,, not fight and grumble if you loose... look at your game as fun, and enjoy playing it, instead of seeing it as a challenge that you MUST win... focus on playing the game well, and not on making mistakes and winnning... If you enjoy your game, winning will come naturally... :p

Talk to your coach. And if you think this same anger is spreading to other areas of your life, please get advice of elders you can trust... Trying praying. It gives enormous good to you.

    Take care. :)
