Sears riding mower engine dies when trying to engage clutch or blade
I am trying to help a friend T/S his Sears 16 hp Riding Mower. It dies when blade or clutch pedal is engaged. I have removed, cleaned and ohms-checked all safety switches, including seat switch but engine will start fine and run fine until I try to engage clutch or blade. Even ohms-checked solenoids for coil continuity. Any other ideas?

    Hi,
I still believe it has to be a switch (probably the seat since both of the others have that one in common) but it could be an unwanted ground at some point in the system. The engine is shut off by grounding the ignition, after all!
    Peace,

PS Always easier to check if you provide a model number since most schematics can be looked up.
