    House Plants: Lemon-lime Draceana
My lemon lime draceana has grown and grown, but bottom leaves fallen over the years. Can I cut down the plant and expect new growth? How long, until I can see new growth?
    THANKS!;)

Hi! jurgenahlers, welcome to AMHD :)

What your describing is normal for a Dracaena , and yes you can cut the plant to propagate it.

It is usually done from woody stem or hardwood cuttings from the plant. Trim the leaves from the bottom 1 to 2inches, and you have your choice of re-potting your cutting in soil, keep it moist or in plain water, only submerge to a little less than what you trimmed.

If I remember correctly, my Mom would also take those trimmed leaves and place them in 1inch of water, and after a few weeks there would be fine root hairs starting, that she would then plant into soil.
The leaves would have at least an inch of stem.

As for how long? Well, you know all Dracaena, are slow growers, the only suggestion I could make, would be that you would have to judge that from how the parent plant had grown for you.
