    UGHHH Fruit Flie
I have been going crazy with a fruit fly problem. I am assuming they are fruit flies however they are a tiny bit bigger than when I thought fruit flies were. We don't have fruit in our kitchen! We are not infested yet, so I am concerned if I do the vinigar/apple cider, it could create a bigger problem. They don't even necessarily seem to be attraced to just the kitchen. I have found them flying around my face and attracted to the computer screaen. Lately in the morning I have found a dozen dead on my kitchen counter?? They are grossing me out! I have mopped and cleaned my kitchen floor every three days for the past three weeks. They don't appear to be going after the garbage??
We have a few plants in the kitchen, green vine like plants. We also have a flowering box with peppers. However they have not even begin to bud peppers. Any ideas suggests on how to get rid of these "bug"gers!!

Your first step needs to be identifying these flies. They may not be fruitflies, but it does sound like a fly of some species. If you're finding lots of dead ones, whisk them into a small jar or bottle and take the specimens to be i.d.'ed at either your local university's biology dept, a reputable exterminator's office, or (if you live in the States) your county Agricultural Extension office.

Once you know what they are, figureing out where they came from and how to get rid of them should be much easier.

Check everywhere for food, behind the stove, refrigerator, in the pantry, under the dishwasher if open, etc. They can come out of something like a clove of garlic for a year, or potatoes or a lemon or anything like that.

It doesn't matter if the plant is making fruit, several types of flies can still come from those.

Has anyone tried a fruit detox? I have read about them online, where you eat only certain types of fruit or vegetables for 3 to 5 days. I'm curious if this would really help your body get rid of the toxins and also help slim down.
