Receiving UI Benefits and working temporary jobs
I am wondering if I will lose my unemployment insurance in the state of California, if I use a temporary agency to work temporary jobs. If not how will it impact my current unemployment benefits? Do I miss a check and then it continues? Or Can I receive both for very short terms, or is there a dollar value that I cannot make more than...

You report each week to UE as usual. Only you put the dollar amount in the box where it says earnings. You can collect both provided your temp job is not more (gross amount) than your UE benefit is. If it is more, then you won't receive the difference. If it is less, you will receive the difference of your gross amount and your weekly UE amount. But the trick is you MUST report each week. Then, when the temp job stops you just don't put in any amount that you made that week. You may have to end up calling up the UE folks and giving them the temp agency and dates and amounts you earned to get back on full time collecting UE benefits. Just don't check the box that you've returned to work full time. Then, it essentially stops your claim cold.

Just to be on the safe side, I'd call up and talk to someone there at UE prior to accepting a temp job and prior to your weekly reporting. This way you'll get the correct info. I'm just giving you Ohio's info.
