    What is the Status of My Amended Taxes for 2008
    I want to find out the status of my 2008 amended tax return to claim the credit for the first time home buyer. It was mailed to the IRS about the middle of September 2009.

    The processing time is somewhere between 12 and 16 weeks.

    You can call the IRS and they will be able to tell you whether the amended return has be sent to a processor yet.
