I've recently been experiencing some really strange things at home and before I convince myself any further, I wanted to get an outsiders opinion. Things have been happening on and off for a couple of years but it seems lately like they are escalating. It started with feelings of being watched. Sometimes I would see shadows move out of the corner of my eye. My son as a toddler would ask me why people were whispering to him. ( Which really freaked me out! ) We once had a shoe thrown across the room in the middle of the day. It landed right in front of the TV where my kids were sitting. Ive heard my name called and when I answered no one was there.

My bathroom lights have gone on and off by themselves. ( As in the switch was flipped off... not a flickering of light. ) Most recently I was home alone and watching TV with no lights on when I saw a small ball of light appear at my ceiling and move slowly downward and through my floor. My only windows in that room had the curtains pulled shut and I have no neighbors because I live out in the country. The ball was about the size of a 50 cent piece and it was solid. You couldn't see through it like a normal light. Plus it was a strange color. Something like a mixture of gold, silver and bronze. Not really a color I could identify.

I woke up one night hearing what I thought was my dog growling in her sleep. She does this sometimes. Having been woke up I proceeded to get up and go to the bathroom. Once upstairs I found that my dog was up there asleep. Two nights ago my son was playing the wii in his bedroom and I walked in his room to see what he was doing. Right outisde the door you could smell grapefruit so strongly that I thought he was eating some. When I checked however, he asked me if I was eating them. I have no lotions/sprays or any household cleaners that even remotely smell the same. So I know it wasn't that. That next morning I was woke up to someone tapping on me. No one was there. Finally last night I woke up to the smell of cinnamon so strong that I got up to see where it was coming from. I could only smell it by my bed. I have nothing cinnamon in my room but I know it wasn't in my mind because my son got up this morning and said he woke up because he smelled something but he wasn't sure what it was so he went back to sleep.

Am I overreacting here. I have told my family that my house is haunted but they all think I'm being silly. My family built the house we live in and its only about 12 years old. So it's not like someone died here or anything. So tell me, what do you think? Am I being silly?

I don't think you are over reacting. It sounds like there is something paranormal in your house but I am not sure it is a ghost or what it might be.
