    Genuine desire to commit?
    I/ve been seeing a man for two years off and on... we often argue and lately he talks about putting our effort together to pick up the pieces... he drinks alcohol a lot and I often feel his unavailability. Trust is an issue... Are his intentions to "commit" genuine?

    Sounds like a lot of red flags that you need to take seriously. On and off, drinks a lot, argumentive, feel his unavailability, trust issues doesn't sound at all promising. He doesn't sound like he is there for you physically, mentally or emotionally and has everything on HIS terms. Not good at all!
