    Shower diverter
The little rubber washer is broken in my shower diverter, and it seems no stores have what I need. I have checked mednards, ace and Lowe's. I would like to know how to find the right part, what it is called and where to get one. I have looked online, but they do not look like the one out of my spout. Also I am wondering why is ripped and if there is something I can do to abvoid it in the future? Thank you!

Tom, I think poster means Spout with Diverter on top of it...

Yes, indeed, it is a tough one. You will be better off buying brand new spout than look for replacement parts. But if you still want to replace the broken part only - I would call manufacturer. This way you'll get exactly what you need. Otherwise, I wouldn't even know where to send you for spout-diverter replacement parts...

Good Luck and let us know what you did... Milo

Sorry about that! I misunderstood the question. Do you have a slip on or threaded spout,(see images)? Let me know, Tom

I'm trying to replace my shower diverter valve since it leaks into the tub significantly when turned to the shower. It's a 3-knob system (hot, diverter, cold) and I don't know the brand. I've gotten the knob off, the surrounding piece off, and one nut off, but I'm not sure what to take off next...

Jayhawk New Member Join Date: Mar 2006 Speedball: I did as you suggested, took out the valves and flushed the shower mixer/diverter. Pressure was very good and some of the lime and calcium came out. I cleaned up the valves with vinegar and put them back in place. Turned on the water and...
