Has anybody ever tinted their texturing mud?
I'm getting ready to put texturing mud (topping compound) on the arch that surrounds my kitchen stove. I have some tint that someone gave me, but am a little confused about how it works. The instructions on the label say to mix the dry tint with some water, then mix that in with the topping compound and let it sit for 4-6 hours. If I wanted to get some color variation (to mimic aged stucco) I suppose I could just not really quite mix the color in completely before I start troweling it on? Has anybody tackled a project like this before? Going to hit it this afternoon, so answer quickly if you have any input... Thanks!
