    Furnace capacitor
How often does a furnace capacitor on a Trane gas furnace need to be changed during a maintenance visit when there are no problems with the furnace?

A furnace fan motor capacitor is a part that does not go out very often, they are very dependable but they do go out. They are very cheap and some service men replace them often just to cover themselves. Say I came to service your furnace and the next day your capacitor went bad just from normal wear and tear I am sure that you would think it was my responsibility to replace it free of charge because I had just checked out your furnace.

I do not do that, but if it did happen to me that way I would make an adjustment in my second charge, but all of my customers know that I am doing what is right for them and they trust me to treat them right.
