I have two sons that are now in college. My oldest has a good idea of what he wants to do with his life (computers), but my second son is not so sure. Like you, my second son is "feeling" his way through the growth process of developing his mind, life, and responsibilities that he will eventually face. Because he is unsure of his study, he, too, is not able to concentrate as well as he would like. Concentration usually picks up when you are working in an area that you are familiar with and one that you enjoy. Here are a few things to help point you in the right direction:
First, you must have a goal - If nothing more than get the basic classes behind you.
Secondly, who are you really and what can you see yourself doing? Are you a people person, do you like to work alone, are you a leader, or a follower?
Thirdly, Are you adventurous or a behind the scenes kind of person?
Lastly, what brings a smile to your face?
You are still young and should not feel bad that you have not "found" what you are suppose to do later on. Going to school is just one of the means of getting you to where you will eventually go.
Also, we sometimes let the thought of our major and/or minor keep us in a certain area thinking that this particular area is the only one that we will be qualified in.
Talk with your parents openly about what they might see you doing. Also, make sure you talk with your adviser to see the endless possibilities for you. Usually when you find something that interests you, it becomes easier for you to concentrate.
And, don't be afraid of a challenge. It helps you to grow and most often, you learn a lot about yourself.
