    Identifying artist - oil painting
Hello, attached is a photo of an oil painting my wife inherited along with signature block. Although the name looks like Bonnet Plume, it may in fact be the setting, the Bonnet Plume River valley in the Yukon. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

I am the daughter of William Bonnetplume and I am confident that that painting was my father's. It is his signature and style of art. He has passed away and if this painting has no value to you, I would love it if you would be willing to pass it back to the family. I have nothing of my dad and would be overjoyed to be able to have a piece of him in my home.

The painting has a lot of sentimental value to my wife as she received it from her parents many years ago. We would love to hear about your dad and get a bit of a bio on him. If you would like, I have the ability to take a very high quality studio photo of the painting and I can e-mail you a copy

It is William Bonnetplume. I have one of his paintings and compaired the signature, big W with little m just above to the right of the W and his full name that was given to me by a friend in Inuvik, NWT same artist. This is where the artist is from. It is an original. In 1950 ( so Im told it went for $225.00 pricew tag is still on it but unsure of date) I am willing to sell for $400.00 if your collecting.

It is a William Bonnetplume and I have a fantastic pencil sketch of a hunter taking a rest from building an ice house? There is a harpoon lying on the ground, I got it from a friend, she loved it and I believe knew William, I am looking at it now as I type. I have a large collection of art that I love including a sketch of a lady my grandfather did probably in the 20's. I would love to give this sketch to Williams daughter as I know it would be treasured by her and it would be home. Please get hold of me at [email protected] I live in Dawson YT, do you ever get here, if you do you could pick it up! Hope to hear from you, Sylvia Burkhard

    Dear Ms. Huskey

I knew your Dad back in the 70's. I have a couple of his paintings. I lived in Ft. Mcpherson . He also did a simple black and white for me while we watched a football game oh so long ago.
