    Violating parole in Ohio
My boyfriend was camping with some friends and they went to get some supplies when they hit a car. He had just got the car and did not have insurance yet. He wasn't the one driving. The next day the car burnt down to the ground because of the accident. He went to court and he was given 1 year of probation, 30 hours of community service and also some fines. His parents decided they wanted him to move back to Washington he did not tell them he was moving. Now he is wondering if he should even come back to Ohio and face his charges. I do know his PO made it clear not to leave the state. They knew from his Washington license that he had once lived there. What could happen to him for this?

He automatically violated his probation by leaving the state and not getting permission or getting is probation transferred to Washington State. He needs to hire an attorney out there and have te attorney take care of this. Warrants for violation of probation never expire. This will haunt him until it is taken care of. He might be able to finish out his probation out in Washington and do his community service, etc out there as well. Only way to find out is to have him go to an attorney out there and for the attorney to call up Ohio and make arrangements on his behalf.

    Hello c:

What you have described ISN'T a crime. But, it doesn't matter too much. It's clear that he committed SOME crime and split from probation... As twink said, a warrant will be issued and he will be brought back to fact justice in Ohio. They WILL catch him. If he wants to face the music, he needs to go back to Ohio and turn himself in.

I would definitely get an attorney and go back to Ohio and see what needs to be done to get this taken care. When he is in Washington if he gets pulled over for speeding and they see his warrant, he will go to jail and it will be worse because they caught him. Sometimes if he initializes it with his officer willingly they will be lenient as opposed to if he got caught. Plus people get warrants put out on them for worse reasons than this, so he just needs to take care of it the right way so he does not have to deal with the scare and fact that he might do jail time for this? Hope this helps!

    Violating parole in Ohio
My friend was driving and it was my boyfriends car. They hit another car. He did not have insurance. He was giving 1 year of parole, 30 hours of community service, and some fines. He fled to Washington to live with his parents. He hasn't been gone that long, a week at most. His first meeting with his PO is in 15 days. Should he come back and pretend he never left? (personally he should but what do you guys think?)
