    Tree House Roof Rafter with 8' span & 6" overhang 4/12 pitch
    The tree house is 8'x8' . I have an idea of how to do it and have framing and speed sqare. I would like an answer to compare with my figures... Thanks

    The calcs are actually done using a High school math topic called the pythagorean theorem. The length of the hip rafter can be found by using a^2 + b^2 = c^2 where c = the length of the hip rafter. Try this video How to cut roof rafters
