    Mammogram Report
My mammogram report has three remarks for the examiner to choose. One is "No significant findings," one is "Follow-up is recommended . . . contact your physician . . . " and the one that was checked for me was this: "Markedly dense and/or nodular breast without definite evidence of cancer." I have been told before during a previous mammogram and breast ultrasound (that I had because I was having some sharp pains about 2 years ago) that my breasts were very dense, and that was typical of women younger than I was (45 at the time). Apparently I am not supposed to follow up with the doctor, just have another mammogram in a year. Any thoughts on this? The part about the breasts being dense didn't bother me until I saw the rest of the statement, "without definite evidence of cancer." Wouldn't "without DEFINITE evidence of cancer" kind of scare someone and cause a woman to think maybe there was some SLIGHT evidence of some kind of trouble--that she might want to follow up on before her next yearly mammogram?

I'm not trying to borrow trouble, just wondered if anyone had any recommendations or thoughts about this. FYI, I don't drink coffee, so caffeine wouldn't be an issue.

If I were you, I would ask the dr what that's supposed to mean. That's what they're there for, right? And that would certainly scare me!
