Is there any organization or individual that helps families in need get a home?
Hello, I will try to keep this brief.
My family is in need of a new home. On of my babies was recently diagnosed with cancer, and due to chemo, her immune system (and overall health) is a mess. Our house is infested with mice, partially because the basement is basically a crude cellar and is directly below the house. We are freezing in the winter and burning up in summer. The upstairs was left undone and is full of exposed insulation. We barely have a yard, but we cannot get rid of our dog. Our water is unfiltered and dirty and it stinks. I want and need a clean, finished place to raise my girls! It doesn't have to be huge, just big enough to raise a family without having to worry about constantly saving money for the next repair. We also need a garage with heat so my husband can fix cars. He has been laid off from the only decently paying jobs in town(thanks economy), and was just starting an at-home job doing body work on cars for individuals. If anyone knows of help, I would love to talk to them! Thank you for your time.

There's Habitat for Humanity. Be aware they require significant sweat equity (you working on your home-to-be) from the prospective homeowner.
