But how u meditate is what counts, do not just sit and try, that doesn't work, first u need to be able to cloase your eyes and see your home, be able to walk around your home, then the energy, concerntrate your energy there and move forward.

Your main exercise is going to be focusing on isolating your senses. The third eye is not beyond what you can already sense, but more of an extension of what you already sense.

The third eye is said to be located in the middle of the forehead, is sometimes related to the Crown Chakra (from the Chakra system of energy practices, which I find highly effective), and from what I hear, for a beginner try deep breathing exercises with visualization. Essentially, focus on that spot between and slightly above your eyes. visualize an eye or a bulb of energy, opening and blooming to vivid senses. Use your senses to be aware of what's around you.

As for using your third eye as a substitute for sight, visualization is your most important skill. Even walking around with your eyes closed is alleged to sharpen your extrasensory abilities.

Incense, stones, mantras, yantras, stretching, and other helpers are said by many to increase effectiveness of these techniques. You'll have to find your own balance. It's like exercising a new muscle, and don't give up if you don't get immediate results. I didn't wiggle my ears the first time I tried.

    Great advise, kiragira,

I have heard this excersise, walk around your living room, dining room, and kitchen. Then sit and try to picture where each object is in located in each room, so you have to pay attention to details when walking around, I heard that is a great excersise.
