Shower light stays on regardless of switch position
A few days ago my shower light would not turn off when I pushed the switch to the off position. I kept trying and eventually, after pressing and holding down the off side, the light went off. I have not used the light for two days and this morning, when the shower was on, the light came on even though the switch was in the off position. I haven't been able to get the light to turn off at all since then.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks and have a great day,

Turn off the power to the switch at the fuse box. Remove the switch and swap it out with a switch known to work. Also check to make certain the twires from the switch are not touching each other thereby bypassing the switch.

Switches do go defective. If it is the switch, replace it.

To add to the above, Remove power, remove switch, turn on power, If light is out, switch is bad, if light doesn't go out, switch may still be good. Wires touching as mentioned.
