Non resident New York State tax percentage
I no longer live in New York State, but I have rental income from New York and work there under 180 days per year. What percentage of my income can I expect to pay for New York State taxes? (I previously paid about 8 or 9 percent).

The tax rate for NY State income tax is 6.85% for most people. But they have enacted a "temporary" income tax surcharge for households making over $250K (if married), or $200K (if single) that can raise the rate to 7.85% or even as high as 8.97%, depending on total income.

Note that the income that is sourced in New York is the ONLY income subject to NY state income taxes, though the rest of your income is added to increase the rate of the NY state income tax.
