Height difference between indoor & outdoor units of A/C ?
    Hi,

Few months from now I am going to install air conditioners for my newly built 2 storey house. And I will do that wisely.

Is there rule about maximum height difference between indoor and outdoor unit ?
Is there rule about maximum distance between indoor and outdoor unit ?
If there are, do they depend on the size or capacity of the A/C ?

    Details :
    - house of 2-storey with 3 bedrooms
    - A/C type : split, 1 outdoor unit for 1 indoor unit
    - quantity : 4 A/Cs (3 in 2nd story and 1 in ground)

I need these infos as I would like to install all of the outdoor units on the outer wall of the 2nd story, while 1 of indoor unit is in ground story.

    Many thanks

You lost me on the 4 a/c part? Are you wanting to install 4 air conditioners? There is no set size on furnaces and air conditioners, depends on size and seer rating, higher seer the bigger the unit will be.

    Thanks for your reply.

I forgot to mention that am only interested in cooling, because am in tropical environment.

Yes, I want to install 4 air conditioners.
I want to put all (4) of the outdoor units on outer wall of my 2nd floor, and 3 of the indoor units in 2nd floor and 1 indoor unit in ground floor. So my concern is the distance and/or height difference between indoor and outdoor unit.

But really, I do not understand your answer (about seer and furnace).

    Cheers
