    New short story-routines.
I have never thought of myself as normal. Ever. I'm fifteen, but it's as though I'm fully grown. Like I've been around long enough to know how things work. I am a person of routines. Of persistence. There is a time for everything. There has always been something that has separated me from most people. Its like I live in my own little world, and no one else can come in. Some kind of barrier, keeping everyone, even my parents, out.
I hate Mondays so much. They are the bane of my existence. Monday is my everything day. The day I try to get everything done, for the week ahead. First, I have school. And my first class, Geometry. Math. Of course. First thing in the morning. I haven't ever been good at math. Ever. I think I have a "D" in that class right now, from the test I flunked last week. Second hour, is A.P world history, with Mr. Laymon. A teacher who literally hates me. Still pretty sure that I have an A in that class though. At lunch, I work with one of my best friends, learning our pom routines. Right after lunch, I have computers. With Mrs. Summitt. The class is fairly easy. I sit in the corner, next to a pervert, and on the other side, is my crush. After computers comes the toughest thing of the day. Pom. I have never been very athletic. I'm more bookwormish. And the dances they teach us aren't easy for me. I'm on junior varsity, because it's my first year. The reason I tried out is because we have to have one p.e. or sports credit to graduate. So this is mine.
After school, things get worse. My dad was diagnosed with cancer last year, and my mother is in prison, serving five years. So I live with my older sister, her husband, and her daughter. My sister doesn't like to work. And this is going to sound very cruel, but she is lazy. No doubt about it. She works in a pharmacy downtown. After work, she comes home, lays down on the couch, and goes to sleep. So most of the time, I take care of Ravyn. Travis, my brother in law, is usually out of the house. With a friend, or down at the pool hall. I would never say it, but I suspect that he cheats on my sister. Anyway, when I get home, I run a few loads of laundry. After that, I fix Ravyn a snack, and work on my homework. At about five oclock, I fix dinner, for our family of four. Then I run errands for my dad. I'm only fifteen, and I don't have my permit yet, but I still drive. I don't have a choice.
My dad lives in Ninnekah, so if he has medicine he needs, or anything really, I pick it up in town, then take it out to him. I try to get him everything he needs for the week in one trip, so I don't have to keep driving out there. Those trips take a lot of me. I hate seeing him so sick.
Once I get home, I finish my homework, and make sure that everybody has eaten. Then I fold clothes, and finish any homework I can. I try not to get too deep into homework, because I also have to pick out Ravyns clothes for the next day, make sure her homework is done, and give her a bath before I put her to bed. Then I clean the kitchen, and take a shower. Mondays, I normally don't get to bed until about two oclock.
Tuesdays are almost as bad. Up at 5:30, get Ravyn ready, then I get ready, and go to school. Honors Biology 1 is first hour. It is very difficult. I'm not sure I will pass that class. Second hour is Spanish 2. Not difficult. I sit there, and read my book. I have a "c" in that class, only because I never do any work. Lunch, I sit with my friend Amanda, and try to relax. After lunch, is advanced acting, with Mrs. Reding. Most of the time, this class gets on my nerves. And after that, comes pre-a.p. english 2 with Jo Perryman. I actually enjoy this class, even though it's difficult.
When I get home, I work with Ravyn on her homework, and then I wait for my mom to call. Most of the time, she only calls when she needs something. A box, or some money. I don't mind getting it for her. After I talk to mom, I do my own homework. Then I fix dinner, and clean up the kitchen. Tuesdays, I help at the slaidy shims retirement home, for comunnity service hours. Sometimes, I don't get home until ten oclock. After that, I give Ravyn a bath and put her to bed. Her clothes are picked out for the next day, and everything is ready. Shower, then bed, at about midnight.
Wednesdays are bad, but not quite as terrible as Mondays. School, then once I get home, Ravyn, Homework, food, church, shower, bed.
Thursdays are my most hectic day. But I don't mind. It takes my mind off being "weird". School, then I have to drop Ravyn off at her dance lessons at four. My dance lessons are at six. Somewhere in the middle, I have to do all of my homework, fix dinner, make sure Ravyns homework is done, pick out our clothes for tomarrow, then once I get home from dance, I finish any homework I didn't earlier, then shower, and go to bed, about one or two oclock.
Fridays, well, Fridays are just that. Fridays. I have all of my classes on these days. Which is a bad thing. But I don't have pom. Well, I do, but we travel to Grand Elementary School, for a 45 minute class. Most of the time, we don't do anything. We don't do homework on Fridays. Ravyn has to be dropped off at girl scouts by five oclock though. When she gets home at six, I fix dinner. Today is the day that I get to go to bed before midnight!! Saturdays, not much happens.
And Sundays, well, we have church in the morning, and then we do homework.
And the week starts all over again.
Like I said, I am a person of routine.
